Innovative New Universal Design Green Showhome "Designed for the Ages" Introduced at Clarksburg Village in Montgomery County.
Bethesda, MD (January 21, 2009) – Winchester Homes in partnership with Design for Life Montgomery is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of their new Universal Design Green "Showhome of Ideas" at Clarksburg Village in Montgomery County, Maryland. The new "Showhome of Ideas" Grand Opening event will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. – noon. Invited attendees at the event, which include a wide band of political, industry and community leaders, will have the opportunity to tour the model and see first-hand the unique elements of Universal Design and Green incorporated into the Winchester model.
Winchester Homes, working in association with the Design for Life Montgomery workgroup, the MNCBIA, the National Association of Homebuilders and Energy Star will showcase the first new home certified through the voluntary Design for Life Montgomery program, the NAHB's Model Green Home Certification Program and the Energy Star program. Winchester Homes has committed years of in-depth research as well as the resources of the company's signature Your Home. Your Way design team to deliver this unique showhome to the Metro DC area.
Also taking place at the February 4th event will be a proclamation by Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett citing February 2009 as "Design for Life Montgomery Month" in Montgomery County. Leggett will make the proclamation and address the overall impact innovations such as Universal Design bring to the broad consumer base in today’s homebuying marketplace. County Executive Leggett will be joined by other political, industry and community leaders from Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Harford County and Frederick County in Maryland along with key representatives from Northern Virginia.
