3.) Real Time Family Time

F
amily time is easier to accomplish when the informal rooms of a home are created for “multi-tasking”. Translation: major rooms flow into and out of the kitchen! Meals can be prepared while homework is being tackled in the adjoing family room. Guests flow easily from appetizer trays on the kitchen island to the rousing game of Uno in the solarium. Spaces designed for comfort and the realities of family life.

Our Your Home. Your Way.™ team worked closely with our clients to make this floorplan a home that uniquely met the needs of a growing family and a talented chef!

The kitchen and breakfast area were expanded four feet to the rear, allowing for a much desired walk-in pantry. Not just any pantry – but an expanded pantry that could accommodate a full size freezer.

The kitchen itself is “all about organization”. Your Home. Your Way.™ designed this kitchen to include significant custom cabintry choices - roll-out trays, lid organizers, a spice rack, a pull-out cutting board, tilt-out trays – everything you see in the foodie magazines and more. A place for everything and everything in its place.

The island was expanded and modified to include larger cabinents for oversize storage – like the turkey platter that usually ends up in the garage!

The solarium was relocated from the rear of the home to the side so that the fireplace could be enjoyed simultaneously by those in the Family Room and the Solarium. The solarium also serves as a reading area and a place for mom to watch the children while they are enjoying time outside.

The owner’s bathroom was designed to accommodate a large walk-in shower with a ceramic tile seat. The perfect place at the end of the day to wash away the stress and real time overload!
